What is epoxy adhesive?
Epoxy resins have been used for decades in industries such as maritime, industrial, electrical, and aerospace. Epoxy resins are highly versatile adhesives suitable for a wide range of substrates. Epoxy adhesives are low-odor, viscous liquids or pastes (self-leveling liquids are also available). Epoxy adhesives are typically packaged in two tubes, each containing a separate unreacted component: the resin and the hardener.
Advantages of using epoxy adhesives
Epoxy adhesives offer long open times, allowing for repositioning and assembly of complex shapes, and cure is unaffected by humidity. These adhesives offer excellent chemical resistance and high-temperature strength, withstanding temperatures up to 125°C, with some even maintaining chemical stability at 200°C. They also exhibit high tensile strength, are thermally and electrically conductive, and are flame retardant.
